it was important to connect to the heritage of the South Eastasian cuisine served at Freshbowl as well as connecting to the community it serves. The previous logo was orange and green and did not feel reflective of the vibrant, colourful meals they serve. This soft, yet vibrant palette represents the colourful community the restaurant is situated in, as well as Peranakan serving dishes that the cuisine would have been traditionally served on.

As a child, the owner’s parents had a restaurant in Malaysia that used a similar flower logo. To honour his family’s heritage, the owner wanted to bring new life to a mark that carried tremendous sentimental value. The flower’s four petals are based on the four members of the owner’s family. Since the brand colours are used interchangeably the flower is to be integrated into all assets to create brand awareness.

The geometric, rounded typeface feels friendly and casual while still holding space. It pairs well with the flower icon logo, and is easy to use for headings. The standard sans version without rounded corners is used for body copy.
